Who is Old Growth Fir Properties LLC?
Lorena and Matthew Maurer are the Managing Members of Old Growth Fir Properties LLC.
We live and work on the Harbor in Aberdeen, Hoquiam and now McCleary, Washington. We are retired educators turned contractors who have renovated more than a dozen homes here and a few across the US. As short term rental hosts we have learned a lot about hospitality and we want to share that spirit of gracious hosting with you!
Here in McCleary — a quiet mill town — we are lovingly restoring the historic hotel into a sanctuary for rejuvenation. We invite you to leave the rush behind and step back in time with us to a slower, more restorative tempo.

This 1912 hotel is surrounded by established gardens including these flowering quince trees.
We plan to improve the gardens and amenities including adding a firepit and garden swing.
Our gathering room is delightfully perfect for your micro-event with seating for 30-50 people.
